President Nakano Joins Globally Live-Streamed International Symposium

On November 17, 2020, an international symposium was held online under the sponsorship of IE University, Spain, one of Hitotsubashi University (HU)¡¯s partner institutions for global exchange programs. President Nakano participated as a panelist.

Under the symposium¡¯s theme ¡°Reinventing Higher Education: New Realities, New Visions for Higher Education,¡± the four panelists from prestigious universities in Japan, United Kingdom, France, and South Africa discussed issues facing higher education in the post-coronavirus era.

The panelists were as follows;

Fr¨¦d¨¦ric Mion, President, Sciences Po, France
Mamokgethi Phakeng, Vice-Chancellor, University of Cape Town, South Africa

In the panel discussion, President Nakano talked about the HU¡¯s initiatives for COVID-19 and his vision toward the future after the pandemic. All the panelists expressed their willingness toward university reform to transform the crisis into an opportunity.
